Sheffield Plan Issues and Options 2020

7 Sep

Have your say on the Local Plan in an online consultation

Online consultation and virtual events will be held in September giving local people the opportunity to provide their views and feedback on what they would like to be included in the Sheffield Local Plan.

The Sheffield Plan will be a guide to development in the city until 2038 and will set out the blueprint for the growth and improvement of the local economy, housing and transport system.

This consultation, which will start on the 1 September and run for six weeks, will gather views on what people would like to be included in the Plan, which will cover areas such as addressing the housing needs of Sheffield’s growing population, tacking climate change and the future of the city’s high-street, parks and attractions.

You can read the Issues and Options 2020 document on our website. You can also viewa number of other supporting documents that we will be seeking comments on, together with background documents and video guides that you may find helpful to refer to.

To make your comments visit our website and follow the link to the consultation portal ‘Citizen Space’ from 1 September and complete the questionnaire.  Please make your comments no later than Tuesday 13 October.

We are also making a series of online consultation drop-in sessions available via Zoom for you to hear more about the plan and give you an opportunity to ask questions of the panel.  These will take place on:

You can book a place at one of these sessions by clicking on the link next to the date.

You can also submit any questions for the meeting in advance by emailing us at sheffieldplan@sheffield.gov.uk. Please include your name and organisation and the date of the meeting you will be attending.

Population Questionnaire to understand Impacts of Covid19 – Citywide (will run for 6 weeks)

22 Jul

Public Health have developed a population level questionnaire to support our understanding of the positive and negative impacts of Covid19 in Sheffield within our communities. The survey will run for 6 weeks.

Click link below to complete the questionnaire

https://sheffield.citizenspace.com/performance-research/coronavirus-rapid-health-impact-assessment

This questionnaire asks a range of questions (mainly multiple choice) about how the experience of Covid19 has been in terms of loneliness, mental health, employment, income, health behaviours, active travel, access to services, where people get their information from  on covdi19, digital inclusion, home schooling, people’s experience of shielding or having Covid19, information about health conditions and managing these during the pandemic, future concerns people may have about the virus.

This questionnaire is really important as it will allow us to gain more information in the areas where we have gaps in data locally. We can then ensure we tailor our response and services to meet the needs described by communities.

It should take around 10-15 min to complete the questionnaire.

If you have any further questions or comments please contact Sarah Hepworth below

Thanks for taking time out to complete the questionnaire

South West Covid Survey Opened 13 Jul 2020 & Closes 14 Aug 2020

13 Jul

Overview

In the past few months Sheffield City Council has deployed extra resources to help communities during the Coronavirus pandemic.

We are now considering how we continue to meet people’s needs, particularly with access to support and information in the coming months, to manage the ongoing effects of the pandemic.

This pilot survey is for residents of South West Sheffield (wards of Crookes & Crosspool, Fulwood, Ecclesall, Dore & Totley). If you live in one of these wards we invite you to take a few minutes to share your experiences regarding Coronavirus support. We will use your answers to inform and shape how we communicate with and support the residents of the South West of Sheffield further as we continue to navigate Covid-19 and recovery.

please complete the Covid survey by clicking on the link below:

Ward Pot Money Available to South West Sheffield Groups & Projects

3 Oct

Do you have an activity you’d like to deliver or an improvement you’d like to make to your local area? Do you need equipment or room hire costs, IT equipment or cake funds to deliver your activity or support your neighbourhood?

The Councillors’ Ward Pots aim to support stronger, successful communities by making grants available to local voluntary, community, and self-help groups and projects that want to make a difference in their local community and which contribute to at least one of the ward priorities.

We’ve funded play equipment for play groups, tea & cake for social clubs, walking paths for schools and neighbouring communities to get active, information boards, chairobics sessions, porta-loos and bouncy castles for festivals, volunteer expenses, ovens for baking groups, room hire for meetings, community defibrillators, public benches, seeds & bulbs for the street scene, hi-vis arm bands to encourage children walking to school, the list goes on……

If you think we can help you in any way, or want some advice on getting something started, please get in contact and speak to Abby on 0114 2037212 or email abby.wilson@sheffield.gov.uk
