SYPTE – Have Your Say – Public Consultation 4 September – 4 October 2015

Have Your Say – Public Consultation

Please find attached a letter and accompanying documentation in relation to the above. The Have Your Say consultation will run from Friday 4 September until Sunday 4 October 2015 and is being undertaken on behalf of the Sheffield City Region Combined Authority Transport Committee. The purpose of this consultation is to inform policy decisions and in turn budget decisions that SYPTE may have to take in the future and provide customers with the best possible offering within the funds available.

South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (SYPTE) are aware that we will need to make budget cuts for 2016/17. The budget SYPTE receives to fund the areas of public transport that we support has been reduced year on year since 2010/11 and we continue to face difficult decisions over how and where we can make future savings. Please note we are unable to reverse previous changes and no decisions about 2016/17 have been made.

The questions in the attached booklet focus on the areas of concessionary travel, supported bus services and travel information and we are asking people to take the time and complete the questionnaire so that we can gain a full understanding of people’s views about the areas we fund.

The easiest way to take part is online at sypte.co.uk/haveyoursay but paper copies are also available.

We will also be holding a number of drop-in events across the County where staff will be available to answer questions and assist in the completion of the form.

Please do take this opportunity to take part and help us get as many public transport users as possible to take part in this consultation.

If you require any further information with regards to this consultation then please get in touch by emailing haveyoursay. Please note members of the public can call Traveline on 01709 515151 who are also able to provide information regarding the consultation.
